About Ariele Bauers, RN, CNM, PMHNP

Hello!

My name is Ariele. I created Jewel Box as a place for healing work and community. My areas of expertise include perinatal mental health (planning/pregnant/postpartum/loss), parenting, sexuality, substance use disorders, complex trauma, and mood/anxiety disorders.

I strive to be body affirming, sexuality positive and trauma informed. I tend to take a humanistic, developmental approach to mental health care. I focus on getting to know my patients, helping them identify their needs and goals, and then supporting them in their growth. We may use lifestyle changes, therapy tools, medications, herbs and/or supplements. I try to be gentle, honest and kind.

I’m from the West coast, and came to New Mexico in 2012. I understand that I’m a guest here, and acknowledge the indigenous people of this place, and the history of colonization and exploitation. I was raised pagan, and have deep respect for all faiths and spiritual paths. I identify as white/cis-femme/bi, as feminist and antiracist. My formal training/experience encompasses health education, nursing, midwifery and mental health/psychiatry. I am dually board certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and as a Certified Nurse Midwife. I am licensed in the state of New Mexico, and have an active DEA license to prescribe medications. My therapy training includes somatic attachment work, narrative work and EMDR.
