Clinic Policies

Making an appointment: Please contact me via phone or email. I like to chat with people first to assess their needs, and determine if we’re a good fit. Return appointments can be scheduled via phone/text/email or through the patient portal.

What to expect during your care: The first visit takes about an hour and includes a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. Most return visits are 60 minutes and include both medication management and therapy. I typically see my patients every 1-4 weeks, depending on their needs.

Appointment cancellation, late arrival & no show policy: Please make every effort to attend your scheduled appointments. This is my livelihood, and I get anxious when my income is unstable (just like everyone else!). Please give me at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel/reschedule your appointment. People who are more than 15 minutes late will not be seen, and assessed as a no show. No shows and cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment will be charged $50.

Payment: Insurance will be billed and/or client payments are invoiced on the day of service. I am actively contracted with Presbyterian (commercial and Centennial), Blue Cross NM (commercial and Centennial), Cigna, and some forms of United. Self-pay pricing is $250 per hour.

Scheduled medications: I do not routinely prescribe benzodiazepines, and am judicious and careful when prescribing controlled substances. Do not expect me to write a controlled substance prescription. I follow professional, state and federal guidelines.
